Pike Central blew open a tight game with a nine-run top of the seventh to beat Eastern Greene, 16-6, in baseball on Wednesday.
Eastern (1-9) was in a 3-3 tie before the Chargers (1-7) scored third in the fifth to take the lead for good. The T-Birds got back within 6-5 in the bottom half before Pike Central, which had 16 hits, scored in the sixth and exploded in the seventh to put the game away.
